Tanto Mar transforms the stage into a poetic meeting of art forms, bringing together music, dance, video and spoken poetry. Drawing on the album of the same name, it explores the Portuguese language and the cultural dialogue between Portugal and Brazil.
Here, the centuries-old words of a language become an expression of longing: a language that can, and wants to, cross the seas in both directions. Woven through the lyric poetry of Camões, the performance reflects on love, saudade and melancholy — feelings that resonate across the distance of the journey.
Classics of fado, samba, samba-canção and seresta are reimagined through a contemporary lens, creating a powerful connection with the audience.
In 2025, the Tanto Mar tour travelled to 10 cities in Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, with 16 concerts supported by IberMúsicas.
